This year, our Advent Calendar holds something really special: a collection of postcards illustrated by Zuzanna Celej, created to accompany us on the journey to Xmas.
Born in Łódź, Poland, Zuzanna moved to Barcelona with her family when she was six. As a child, she spent hours inventing and making things, from models and robots to automata and little theatres. Her fascination with creating imaginary worlds eventually led her to illustration, a way of bringing to life everything she imagines and the places she sees when she closes her eyes.

After studying Fine Arts and photography, she went on to specialise in illustration at Llotja School of Art and Design in Barcelona. Today, she is an award-winning illustrator with more than fifty illustrated books to her name. Her work has received international recognition and been exhibited around the world, including at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Zuzanna has illustrated beautiful books such as Hachiko: The Dog That Waited by Luis Prats and The Books of A by Josep Lluís Badal.

We have admired Zuzanna’s work for a long time, and we are delighted to have her illustrations accompany this year’s Advent Calendar.

Inside each box, you’ll find an extra surprise: a postcard featuring one of her illustrations. Day by day, these little pieces of art will find their way into your hands, gradually filling an empty space with beauty. We love the idea of making room for something beautiful, letting it grow one day at a time, and perhaps sharing it with someone special along the way.
Because Xmas is also about the little things we treasure, the details that make us smile and the unexpected gifts that stay with us long after the moment has passed. This year, we hope Zuzanna’s illustrations bring a little extra wonder to your journey towards Xmas.
